Our animals are raised on pasture as God originally intended them to live, and the meat is naturally lean and VERY delicious! Our beef is dry aged for two weeks after butchering to tenderize the meat and to enhance flavor. Pasture raising also means that the meat will be naturally high in Omega-3-fatty acids, and Conjugated Linoleic acid - two of the strongest anti-carcinogens known to man.
Our beef comes from two places. It is either born here, or we buy it as a newborn calf from some local farmers who are careful in their treatment of their cows. We won't buy from someone who uses hormones or steroids - either synthetic or non-synthetic. Either way, your beef will be raised on this farm from the small calf stage. We raise a rugged mix (all at least 50% angus)of beef cattle and a special lean meat bred beef. For our own health, we raise and feed our cattle as naturally as possible. Personally, we want our beef to be raised on good pasture, with plenty of sunshine and exercise. We use no hormones nor any steroids, and antibiotics are given only when the animal's life is in danger.
We transport our animals to a local processor, so your beef is not crowded into a semi to be shipped halfway across the country. Neither do we withhold water or food as is commonly done. We treat our animals as humanely as possible at all times.
Now we can offer some of the fruits of our labor to others who want to improve their own health and make lifestyle changes. Our all-natural beef and goat can make a big difference in a person with compromised health, and can help keep a healthy person healthy. If you desire a healthy, ethical, environmentally sustainable source for meat, this is it!
Questions about our Organic Status
We are not, at this time, raising organic beef. We come as close as we possibly can within the financial means that we have, and the prices that we charge. Going organic would mean that we would need to nearly double our prices. Organic, however, does not necessarily mean better. Organic can still (at this time) be raised in a feedlot, with little or no grass, and just fed organic grains. Personally, I will take grass-fed and finished meat over the grocery store label of "organic" any day. |
